MOEV was founded as a spinout of UCLA’s Samueli School of Engineering by faculty researchers whose expertise in electric vehicles, AI/ML, smart‑charging infrastructure, and fleet operations is documented in over 300 publications and patents. Their deep technical foundation is complemented by industry veterans from Tesla, Uber, Google, Microsoft, Hyperloop One, Hewlett‑Packard, Stanford, QuantumScape, Sempra Energy, Yahoo, Digital Equipment Corporation, Carnegie Group, and Verizon Wireless. After securing a $3 million+ California Energy Commission award to deploy MOEV.AI™ at Gardena Bus Transit, the company has expanded its deployments at customer sites including Culver City Transit (CA), Prince George’s County Transit (MD), and Solano County Transit or SolTrans (CA).

Dr. Peter Chu

Peter is a seasoned engineer with expertise in smart energy systems, EV integration, and renewable energy. With over 20 years of experience, he has led innovative projects in smart charging systems and microgrid infrastructure, earning patents and managed projects funded by CEC and DOE. His work bridges research and application, advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Dr. Rajit Gadh

Co-Founder and Disruptor

Dr. Rajit Gadh, MOEV Co-Founder and Disruptor is a professor of engineering with over 200 publications. He is the co-founder of one startup and has been advisor to several others, and has raised over $20 million in funding for R&D and technology development.  He has a Bachelors from IIT Kanpur, Masters from Cornell University, and a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.

Apurva Chandra

VP Business Development, Sales and Marketing

Apurva's expertise is marketing and new business development for large organizations and startup companies that wish to expand their sales footprint. His services include assisting companies in seeking technological and equity based partnerships. Previously he was with the HP Telecom Division and with Digital Equipment Corp. He has a Bachelors in EE from IIT Delhi and a MS from UCLA in Computer Science.

Yijing Jiang

Senior Software Engineer

Yijing Jiang received her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in the field of Machine Learning and Data Science from the University of Southern California. Her primary responsibility is supporting MOEV's AI-based Machine Learning and Optimization software to control the smart charging process of electric vehicles.

Weiheng Yuan

Senior Software Engineer

Weiheng Yuan received his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and participated in a research group about estimating the circuit De-obfuscation runtime. At MOEV he works on the front end design for our dashboard and the design and development of the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP).

Dr. Himanshu Pota, Expert, Grid Controls, Optimization & Management, has 400+ technical publications, as well as global expertise in electrical power grid technology, having worked across three continents.

Advisor

Jeremy Snyder, Strategic Advisor, after years as an entrepreneur, was Tesla's Head of Global Business Development. He creating Tesla’s go-to-market strategy, opened Tesla’s first stores, and helped grow Tesla’s business on the west coast to over 1 billion in annual sales by 2014.

Brent Callinicos

Brent Callinicos is a board member at Baidu, where he serves on the organization’s Corporate Responsibility Committee. He was previously the chief financial officer of Uber, and now has an advisory role at Hyperloop One, after being its CFO.

Lee Krevat

Advisor

Lee has over three decades of experience in the energy and technology industries. While working at San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E), a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, led SDG&E’s smart grid and electric vehicle grid initiatives. Lee was also director of new ventures for Sempra Renewables.

Dr. Rohit Chandra

Dr. Chandra has a PhD in CS from Stanford University and a bachelor in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. He is guiding MOEV on technology and engineering efforts.
